Having an American daddy, a Chinese mom, a Filipino helper, Korean and Japanese neighbours, Kioni is very much aware that people have different nationalities.
One day she was looking at the tag of Benjamin Sam (one of her stuffed toy sheep) and discovered that he is Korean!
"Mommy, Benjamin Sam is Korean!" She said with excitement.
"Really? How do you know?"
"It is written on the tag."
"What about the other animals? What nationality are they?"
She then picked up each of the stuffed animals and looked at the tags, after a while, she proclaimed,
"They are all Chinese! Just like you!"
