We went to Jimmy's Charhouse for dinner to celebrate daddy's birthday. Kioni never wants to sit down on a high chair whenever we are in a restaurant, so we asked for a booth and she was happy just playing and moving around in the booth, we did request a booster seat so that once in a while we can order her to sit down, though often we failed.
There was a man who was eating alone in the booth behind us, Kioni was smiling at him, talking to him, trying to draw his attention, but I guess that gentleman was not in the mood of babytalk at that particular moment, so Kioni's effort was futile. So she turned to the mini crackers that came with my soup, she poured the whole bag out on a plate, then she wanted to show the whole restaurant how she could eat the soup with a spoon, which she poured half of them down the table. When I tried to help her, she kept saying, "Kei Kei do, Kei Kei do, Kei Kei do....." in a whinny voice, irritating the whole restaurant and most of all, me.
She was happy for a little while, then when our meals came, she was interested in the french fries and carrots for a little bit, ate some, then she was bored again, this was the conversation that happened next:
Kioni: "Kei Kei go down walk."
Mommy: "But look, everyone is sitting down, no one is walking."
Kioni looked around, and saw that indeed, everyone was sitting down, she was quiet for a while. Suddenly, she flunged her arm out and then firmly pointed towards a certain direction and in a stern little voice, she said, "He's walking, Kei Kei walk."
It was the waiter, and yes, he was walking.
This little brain has some logic in it, and I suspect that one day she might be a lawyer.
