Red fire hydrants

This is a little conversation while we were taking a walk around the neighbourhood yesterday. this is an audio post - click to play Dan had to go to class around 1:00pm, so I took half a day off to go home to be with Kioni, since she is sick. Dan took her to sick call in the morning, they said her throat is quite red, it seems like she has a very bad cold, they gave her some drugs to help the congestion and cough. The weather was almost up to the 50sF yesterday afternoon, that's 10C! (For my friends and family in Hong Kong, 10C is warm weather here, since most of time it is -1C to -6 C here.) So I bundled her up and we took a long walk to get some fresh air. She was particularly interested in the red fire hydrants, she was fascinated by the fact that if the firemen opened it up, water will come out. She stood there for a long time contemplating the thought of this red thing that has water in it. She then stopped at every fire hydrant she could spot and admired them one by one.

I can tell from the audio that Kioni does sound she has a cold. Hope she will get better soon.
