Inside were two gold medals and a trophy.
Kioni has won awards, again, for her achievement in the Kumon program, because of all our moving around, the awards didn't reach us until then. Last year, we were in the Philippines and were able to attend the award ceremony, but we couldn't do it this year. So the owner of the Kumon Center in Cebu, who is an absolutely wonderful lady, mailed the medals and trophy to us all the way to Scotland!
The two gold medals are awards for her being three years ahead of her peers in the Kumon Reading and Math program.
The trophy, which is a great surprise, is for her number 1 placement in the whole Kumon Reading program at her grade level! (Even though the trophy said, "made it to the top ten", Kioni's placement is number 1.)
She is very proud of herself, and I am extremely proud of her. She worked hard on them, and now she saw the results. (Well, she didn't really work that hard for the Reading, she just loves it.)
We didn't have the glamor of going to the ceremony, but receiving the medals and trophy is just as rewarding.
